About 2 years ago, I found a set of napkins at a yard sale for 75 cents. I knew I wanted to make something with them, I just didn't know what. </span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">It finally came to me and this was the end result. A tablecloth for my outside patio table. We also have game boards for the game "bags" or "cornhole"....depending on where you live. :) I had enough of this fabric left to make a set of matching green bags and a set of yellow bags.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I absolutely love the quilting that was done on this. The back is white and every bit as cute as the front with those little black ants marching!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">This would look adorable in a red and white gingham as well!</span></div>
<div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">As you can see, this still needs to be bound. It is sadly on a stack of items that need binding :)</span></div>

Life has just gotten in the way! Moved recently and been plugging away quilting as usual. :) </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I do find that I miss blogging and want to get back into the swing of things. I have tons of quilts to post since my last post. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">And, in other big quilting news...my mother has acquired a long arm quilter. Let me just say, it is a life changer for me! It has been so awesome having my quilts done on the long arm. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">We have sort of teamed up on quite a few projects and orders are rolling in like crazy!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">The most recent order I filled was for a lady in Tennessee who has schnauzers. She wanted a wall hanging with a schnauzer on it. This is what I came up with:</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5DzARrr8dF8/U6LVSI1EMqI/AAAAAAAAAcE/glgedcFisvo/s1600/IMG_1152.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5DzARrr8dF8/U6LVSI1EMqI/AAAAAAAAAcE/glgedcFisvo/s1600/IMG_1152.jpg" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UIW5S37CeVM/U6LVSPdjJxI/AAAAAAAAAcA/HBljvoM2eoQ/s1600/IMG_7713.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UIW5S37CeVM/U6LVSPdjJxI/AAAAAAAAAcA/HBljvoM2eoQ/s1600/IMG_7713.jpg" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I have to say that this is truly one of my favorite quilts I have made. I absolutely love stars! Any and every way that points can be arranged on a quilt, I want to make one!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">My mother did an amazing job with the colors and pattern on this quilting!!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

I have actually decided to only do 8 of the 12, so there will only be one more post on the sampler series for the summer. I do intend to do another set for myself with a completely different color pallet, though.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I wrote my mother a poem for mother's day back in 1999 that was about a quilt. She has had it framed and hanging in her living room for the last 14 years. We have often talked of making a quilt with it by screen printing the poem onto blocks, etc.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Well, my mother finally decided it was time and had the poem embroidered onto 4 white quilt blocks. I have decided to give these sampler blocks to her to go with her poem blocks. It is so fitting that the poem is about brightly colored quilt blocks that were pieced together with love and patience. I am so anxious to see the samplers with the poem blocks finished.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">At any rate, back to the block this week. This one was not too difficult once I figured out exactly how to cut the angles I needed! This whole project has been an awesome skill builder for me and I am so happy that I have done it.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">The tutorial for this block was very nicely done and can be found <a href="http://www.freshlypieced.com/2011/07/summer-sampler-series-arkansas-traveler.html" target="_blank">here </a>at Freshly Pieced.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Here is a shot of mine:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uMYdMcv3n_Q/UdnADknzkQI/AAAAAAAAAak/WbUEzSGXzYA/s1600/DSCN0453.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uMYdMcv3n_Q/UdnADknzkQI/AAAAAAAAAak/WbUEzSGXzYA/s640/DSCN0453.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">It pains me that I cannot do a shot of all 7 blocks together on this post, but I already mailed what I had done to my mother so that she could get started.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Happy sewing :)</span>Kathryn Davishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06602711777037844998noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1738862551028253229.post-74406155864438531942013-07-02T19:39:00.001-07:002013-07-02T19:39:41.847-07:00Sampler Block #6 - Minnesota<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">This block was a lot of fun to do and went a lot quicker than I thought. These sampler blocks are so tricky! The ones I thought would be easy were most challenging and the ones I thought would be a breeze were a little more challenging.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">They have all been fun, though.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">This block was not really one of my favorites in the series. It was also the first block that I did that I had doubts mid way through about my color choices, etc. However, when it was done, I was madly in love with it. :). I think it goes nicely with the other blocks. It looks like strawberry lemonade to me.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">The instructions were easy to follow and you can find them <a href="http://www.freshlypieced.com/2011/07/summer-sampler-series-minnesota-block.html" target="_blank">here</a> at Freshly Pieced.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Here is a shot of mine:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">And a shot of all of the blocks so far:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>

Time really slips away when you are working on several projects at once, which I always say I am not going to do, but totally do anyway.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I made a quilt for the new addition, and some burp rags. I had been wanting to make a gift / storage box to put everything in as well. Something that I thought would look good with diapers or other baby supplies in. I finally got around to it today.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">This came together more quickly and more easily than I anticipated (I love it when that happens).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Anyone who knows me or reads my blog knows that I am not a fan of "baby" stuff. This box was no exception. I chose colors that I thought would work for a boy but no baby patterns.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">For this project you will need:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">1) Cardboard box</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">2) Sharpie</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">3) Spray Adhesive</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">4) Scissors</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">5) Canvas fabric in two patterns (I used a solid and a print)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8cR228Df6dg/UdDEibYsChI/AAAAAAAAAYE/GGy7aO4fa7g/s1600/DSCN0471.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8cR228Df6dg/UdDEibYsChI/AAAAAAAAAYE/GGy7aO4fa7g/s640/DSCN0471.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">First, I measured my box. My sides were about 9" tall, so I called it 10" so I would have a little more than I needed.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Draw a line the length of the height you want (mine was 10") from each corner of your box. Next, draw a line 1" to the outside of your first line. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-10pvxHBWsbY/UdDH9mGrsUI/AAAAAAAAAYs/nS1AgBct7AQ/s1600/DSCN0464.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-10pvxHBWsbY/UdDH9mGrsUI/AAAAAAAAAYs/nS1AgBct7AQ/s640/DSCN0464.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">So, you have essentially drawn a square at each corner. Now, you want to cut those squares off each corner like so:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--ibxzVolVPw/UdDG99tlBaI/AAAAAAAAAYU/CreMMnoupJc/s1600/DSCN0468.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--ibxzVolVPw/UdDG99tlBaI/AAAAAAAAAYU/CreMMnoupJc/s640/DSCN0468.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Where your two lines intersected at each corner, but a slit into it from corner to corner like so:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bSmSwEC6hyc/UdDG_bfbc7I/AAAAAAAAAYg/ApYS2Mq7IDw/s1600/DSCN0469.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bSmSwEC6hyc/UdDG_bfbc7I/AAAAAAAAAYg/ApYS2Mq7IDw/s640/DSCN0469.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">At this point, I sprayed the bottom of my box and put it on my fabric. I would caution you that with the adhesive I used, you want to set the box exactly where you want it because it didn't want to come loose when I sat it down!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I started with my narrow sides. I sprayed the side of the box and just around the corner so I could wrap the fabric around like so:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--zdErQLIHFY/UdDKgr9nTeI/AAAAAAAAAZA/zQiPKbEChjs/s1600/DSCN0475.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--zdErQLIHFY/UdDKgr9nTeI/AAAAAAAAAZA/zQiPKbEChjs/s640/DSCN0475.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">After I had my narrow sides finished, I trimmed the extra on the top a bit and moved to the wider sides.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">The extra width on each side of fabric that I glued around the sides on the narrow ends will be folded over on these ends before they are glued to the box. I folded the flap in and finger pressed it, then opened it, sprayed the area and folded it back over like this:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NLHTbSCY4JI/UdDLengFVpI/AAAAAAAAAZU/QWdZ6CgH32U/s1600/DSCN0476.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NLHTbSCY4JI/UdDLengFVpI/AAAAAAAAAZU/QWdZ6CgH32U/s640/DSCN0476.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Next I sprayed the side and pulled my fabric up like I did with the narrow sides. The finished box looks like this:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UAGMFnlkk3k/UdDL49Bv7YI/AAAAAAAAAZc/OWoXpPwyL9c/s1600/DSCN0478.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UAGMFnlkk3k/UdDL49Bv7YI/AAAAAAAAAZc/OWoXpPwyL9c/s640/DSCN0478.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Next, I made my inside cover that also overhung on each side. I did not actually take photos of this process, but it is pretty simple.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I measured the dimensions of the bottom of my box and added 1/2 inch to each side for seam allowance then cut one. I measured each narrow side plus the number of inches I wanted my fabric to overhang (about 3 inches for me) and cut two. Then measured each wide side plus the number of inches for overhang and cut two.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I sewed the narrow sides to the bottom, then the wide sides then joined them into a box shape.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Insert the liner with the right side facing you and then fold over your overhang.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">These photos were taken before the overhang edges were finished. I was trying it on to see that it fit correctly.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">This block turned out nicely and I love all the colors in it. It consists of 16 HST and went together quickly.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">The tutorial is <a href="http://www.freshlemonsquilts.com/?p=1204">here</a> at FreshLemonQuilts.Com.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Here is a shot of mine:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This was one of my favorite blocks in the sampler and, by far, the most difficult block I have ever done.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I got mixed up and turned around on a lot of the templates on this one. My advice is 1) Measure the one inch guide on each template after you print it & 2) Label all of your template pieces. I learned both of these the hard way!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">After all the work and frustration, though, I was very pleased with how mine came out. I used a very different color choice than the block in the tutorial at freshlypieced.com. You can find the tutorial <a href="http://www.freshlypieced.com/2011/08/summer-sampler-series-kansas-dust-storm.html">here</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dmH6at2ll38/UccKyquUPtI/AAAAAAAAAXU/pNIQ6JtLgaI/s1600/DSCN0432.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dmH6at2ll38/UccKyquUPtI/AAAAAAAAAXU/pNIQ6JtLgaI/s640/DSCN0432.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Kansas Dust Storm</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-n2a-24sCNVY/UccK1aK6MsI/AAAAAAAAAXg/JGjMwSf-k48/s1600/DSCN0434.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-n2a-24sCNVY/UccK1aK6MsI/AAAAAAAAAXg/JGjMwSf-k48/s640/DSCN0434.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Mosiac, Kansas Dust Storm, Star, Greek Cross (left to right....and ignore my Carpentar's Star!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">The instructions for this one were not written so much for the beginner as the ones for the Star block were. So, if you are new to paper piecing like I was, I would recommend doing the Star block first before trying the Kansas Dust Storm block!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Happy Quilting :)</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>Kathryn Davishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06602711777037844998noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1738862551028253229.post-4573260091026428692013-06-12T19:49:00.001-07:002013-06-13T09:21:21.594-07:00Sampler Block #3 - Star<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Every now and then something happens that reinforces something that you already know, and this block was one of them for me.</span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I had been putting off my first paper pieced block just dreading it! I had this picture of it being so hard and wondered if I had the skills to pull it off.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I bit the bullet this week with the Star block. Now that it's finished, I feel silly for dreading it so badly. I was much easier than I thought....looking back to how afraid I was of it, it seems so silly now.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I will say, though, for any of you who have not paper pieced before KEEP YOUR INSTRUCTIONS HANDY! While the process was simple, I found it a little confusing which fabric faces toward you, which faces away, etc. I did hit a couple bumps in the road and did some seam ripping on this one.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Thankfully, the instructions on freshlemonquilts.com was very well done with great photos. I would recommend following her advice and writing your colors on your paper templates before you start stitching! Click <a href="http://www.freshlemonsquilts.com/?p=1156">here</a> for the tutorial and templates for this block.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Here is a shot of my first paper pieced block ever! I know it won't be my last!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">This block is not my favorite shape wise, but it does work in the overall sampler. It is called Greek Cross and can be found <a href="http://www.freshlemonsquilts.com/?p=1113">here</a> at FreshLemonQuilts.com.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;">Here is a shot of mine. Finished size is 12 1/2 X 12 1/2....as are all of the blocks in this series. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-x5Hq4RgXYPg/UbS1COufnuI/AAAAAAAAAWY/uHtG0HVWXNk/s1600/DSCN0371.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-x5Hq4RgXYPg/UbS1COufnuI/AAAAAAAAAWY/uHtG0HVWXNk/s640/DSCN0371.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Block #1 & Block #2 together (Mosiac & Greek Cross left to right)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Zo4D1NP6TI8/UbS1E4fHbzI/AAAAAAAAAWg/KYNvxGMtX-w/s1600/DSCN0374.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Zo4D1NP6TI8/UbS1E4fHbzI/AAAAAAAAAWg/KYNvxGMtX-w/s640/DSCN0374.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Greek Cross Block</div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I had some lovely charm squares from Moda that I though would blend with my color scheme, so I deviated from my solids a little on this one.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">My next block I am doing from the series is one simply called "Star". It will be my first paper piecing attempt so I have my fingers crossed!</span><br />

I started this quilt last year as an entry to the county fair for 2013. I was in no huge rush to complete it since I had a year to get it done :). </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">It is finally finished and I could not be more in love with the quilting that was done on it. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">You can find my original post <a href="http://cremedecraft.blogspot.com/2012/09/vintage-project-update.html">here</a>. This pattern is called Hopscotch and can be found in Super Simple Quilts #1. This book is available on Amazon, I believe.</span><br />

I took a look and it was from 2011, but hey, if I haven't seen it before it's new to me!</span><br />
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">This sampler has 12 blocks and a hand full of bloggers doing tutorials on each.</span><br />
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I am not a big fan of solids, but when I saw this sampler, I fell in love. It is also very interesting to see everyone's blocks on the various blogs that have tutorials! But, my favorite by far was the white and solids.</span><br />
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I decided to take up this project for the summer and do one block each week. I will post links to the original instructions each week also.</span><br />
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I am really excited about this project! I think it will be a skill builder and I am looking forward to learning a new thing or two :)</span><br />
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">For my first block, I chose the "Mosaic". </span><br />
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Here is a</span><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;"> shot of mine before final assembly of the 16 HST in it. (These will be laid out a little differently before assembly)</span><br />

I just picked up the binding today at JoAnn Fabric.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">The quilt top was mailed to Tennessee to be quilted by a friend of my mother's, who did a fantastic job! I was so happy that I opted for the circles in the quilt pattern. A friend told me that with all the blue, it looked like water to her. I think it does as well! We are headed to Tennessee shortly and I will pick it up.....I can't wait!</span><br />

Sundays for me are a day to casually clean house, sew, nap or try a new recipe. I really feel like Sunday's are my day. I always feel incredibly blessed on Sundays. As I am cleaning or cooking or just sewing or relaxing, I am always reminded in these quite moments how blessed I am. :)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Today, I decided to try making home made soft pretzels. Now, we buy these all the time, and they are an item that I have wanted for a LONG time to try to make at home. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I finally decided to take the plunge today. I honestly figured they would turn out somewhat since I have worked with a lot of dough in my day. But, they turned out even better than I expected! Love it when that happens!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I have found several recipes over the years for these and had held onto several from all kinds of sources for when the bug hit me to make these. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AL1IEXLNQ_I/UXRIBqkQ2DI/AAAAAAAAAT8/k2IKMJPTZAc/s1600/DSCN0268.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AL1IEXLNQ_I/UXRIBqkQ2DI/AAAAAAAAAT8/k2IKMJPTZAc/s400/DSCN0268.JPG" width="400" /></a></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Here is the recipe I went with:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: large;">Ingredients:</span></span></h3>
<div class="ingredient" style="background-color: #fff9ee; color: #222222; font-family: inherit; line-height: 21px;">
<ul style="line-height: 1.4; margin: 0.5em 0px; padding: 0px 2.5em;">
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">1 1/2 cups warm water</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">2 tablespoons light brown sugar</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">1 package active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">3 ounces unsalted butter, melted</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">2 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">4 1/2 to 5 cups all-purpose flour</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Vegetable oil</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">3 quarts water</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">3/4 cup baking soda</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Egg wash (1 whole egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon cold water)</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Coarse salt</span></li>
</ul>
</div>
<h3 style="background-color: #fff9ee; color: #222222; font-family: inherit; margin: 0px; position: relative;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: large;">Directions:</span></span></h3>
<div class="instructions" style="background-color: #fff9ee; color: #222222; font-family: inherit; line-height: 21px;">
<ol>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Combine the water, sugar, yeast, and butter in the bowl of a stand mixer and mix with the dough hook until combined. Let sit for 5 minutes.</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Add the salt and flour and mix on low speed until combined. Increase the speed to medium and continue kneading until the dough is smooth and begins to pull away from the side of the bowl, about 3 to 4 minutes. If the dough appears too wet, add additional flour, 1 tablespoon at a time. </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Remove the dough from the bowl, place on a flat surface and knead into a ball with your hands.</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Oil a bowl with vegetable oil, add the dough and turn to coat with the oil.</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Cover with a clean towel or plastic wrap and place in a warm spot until the dough doubles in size, about 1 hour.</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Bring the water to a boil in a small roasting pan over high heat and add the baking soda.</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Remove the dough from the bowl and place on a flat surface. </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces, about 4 1/4 to 4 1/2 ounces each. </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Roll each piece into a long rope and shape into the lengths or shapes that you want (sticks are easy and tasty). </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Boil the pretzels in the water solution in batches. Boil for about 30 seconds. Remove with a large slotted spoon. </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Place pretzels on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Make sure they are not touching. </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Brush the tops with the egg wash and season liberally with the salt. </span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Place into the oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes until golden brown.</span></li>
<li style="margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Add additional toppings immediately after they come out of the oven.</span></li>
</ol>

I am still not convinced that I have my layout right.....I always fuss way too much over this stage of a quilt!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">The good news is that I am pretty sure I have enough fabric left over to do another quilt with it, but a different pattern. I am thinking of giving them both to the Momma-To-Be as a matching set. :)</span></div>

I have 30 of 40 blocks finished!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I found this pattern quite some time ago and wished I had an excuse to make it. And, when I found out there was going to be a new baby boy in the family, I immediately thought of this quilt. I was able to find it again on Pinterest. Ladies, what the heck did we do with all of our free time before Pinterest?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Here is the original image. I think that her color choice is SO amazing!!</span><br />

Just busy with life and that pesky "job" that is always keeping me away from my sewing room!</span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Good news in the family.....a baby boy is on the way! This is a great excuse for me to craft and sew like crazy! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I have been making these really cute and easy burp rags. I found the pattern here: <a href="http://sewshesews.wordpress.com/2009/07/29/burp-cloth-tutorial/">http://sewshesews.wordpress.com/2009/07/29/burp-cloth-tutorial/</a></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Sorry my picture is sideways :/.....could not figure out how to turn it around!</span></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JkmNXaXxQ8I/UW37dmpxJqI/AAAAAAAAARw/8z2Ed905FhQ/s1600/DSCN0207.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JkmNXaXxQ8I/UW37dmpxJqI/AAAAAAAAARw/8z2Ed905FhQ/s640/DSCN0207.JPG" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Burp Rags<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I am not a huge fan of "babyish" fabrics and colors, so I tried to go with something a little less baby than the obvious color choices and patterns. I have two more matching sets of two.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I have a lovely quilt in progress that I found on Craftsy that I will share soon....when it's a little more together!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Happy Crafting :)</span></div>

I think she wants them all to match on Christmas morning for photos....how adorable, right?!?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I thought reindeer would be a good Christmas symbol that was unisex!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I had a heck of a time finding a reindeer pattern so I ended up having to make one on my own. I did find a picture online that I liked it and I used it as an inspiration/guide. I thought I would share my pattern here in case someone else out there is looking for one! This is a jpg so you can copy and re-size it to whatever size you need.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TwnsUUiTJ7A/UMUbZsQLs_I/AAAAAAAAAQM/jkn-WvYJTKU/s1600/Reindeer+Template.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TwnsUUiTJ7A/UMUbZsQLs_I/AAAAAAAAAQM/jkn-WvYJTKU/s640/Reindeer+Template.jpg" width="464" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I used Heat N Bond Ultra for the lettering, because some of it was intricate and I did not want to sew around it. I used regular Heat N Bond for the reindeer so that I could embroider around them.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">The girls reindeer have bows on the antlers and for the one boy, I made his reindeer nose red.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I think they turned out so cute and may just have to do another project with these little guys!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Here are some shots of mine ready to be applied.</span><br />

When the weather gets like this, I really get the urge to crochet! It is just not a craft that I can get into in the spring and summer, but fall and winter I LOVE it.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I decided to whip up a chunky cowl for myself and then another for a friend. I apologize for the pictures...I took them with my phone in not the best lighting!</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ceJ6jtIezXM/UJkVmHfzjfI/AAAAAAAAAOA/QlLkQvjPCpA/s1600/IMG_0537.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ceJ6jtIezXM/UJkVmHfzjfI/AAAAAAAAAOA/QlLkQvjPCpA/s400/IMG_0537.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Here is one that was done in a chunkier yarn.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--ztESih2lZI/UJkb7mQz7YI/AAAAAAAAAOo/_FTxtMz5XAk/s1600/IMG_0529%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--ztESih2lZI/UJkb7mQz7YI/AAAAAAAAAOo/_FTxtMz5XAk/s400/IMG_0529%5B1%5D.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">This one was done in a regular yarn with a large needle.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I used an N(9mm) hook for both.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Start with a Foundation chain or a single crochet. I used about 75 stitches for my regular yarn one and about 60 for the chunky yarn one. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Use a Herringbone Half Double Crochet for as many rows as you like until you have reached the thickness you would like. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Once you have reached the desired size, join the narrow ends with a whip stitch and weave in ends.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><b>FCH-Foundation Chain</b>: Chain 2. Insert hook in the first of two chains. Yarn over, draw through loop (chain stitch just created). Yarn over, pull through two loops on hook. You now have two fch completed. *Insert hook in upper loop of stitch just created. Yarn over, draw through loop. Yarn over, pull through two loops on hook.* Three FCH completed. Repeat from * to * across for desired number of chain stitches.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><b>HHDC-Herringbone Half Double Crochet</b>: Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch. Yarn over, pull through two loops on hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops on hook.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Make sure to HHDC in the <u>Back Loop Only</u> for each stitch across!</span></div>

I have taken a new position that I start in a couple of weeks and I have been frantically trying to get things in order before I go.</span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">It is a bittersweet departure as I work with some really great people! One of them was pretty down today (for a very legitimate reason which I won't go into). I think the world of this gal and wanted to do something to cheer her up. What could be better on a cloudy day than a box of sunshine?</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Here is my finished box:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fZl4dhNvDKY/UJCIi8CgmNI/AAAAAAAAANI/ye0OXyMrrMg/s1600/GEDC0224.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fZl4dhNvDKY/UJCIi8CgmNI/AAAAAAAAANI/ye0OXyMrrMg/s400/GEDC0224.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Now, I already had this great container that a friend gave me a while back. It actually came with a lid, but in this case, I can't use it.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">So, I started with my container and the top of my paper shredder. You know the pesky ends of shipping paper rolls? That piece that is too short to wrap a box with but just big enough that the Hoarder in you doesn't want to throw it out? Cut those into strips the width of your shredder and let them fall straight in your container like so:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Dt5De27kOIA/UJCHp_A6GvI/AAAAAAAAAMk/iCei3ymu6Ks/s1600/GEDC0218.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Dt5De27kOIA/UJCHp_A6GvI/AAAAAAAAAMk/iCei3ymu6Ks/s400/GEDC0218.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Next, I took some tissue paper, cut it into strips and ran those through the shredder.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6lGHE8MuwHw/UJCH6FaL7jI/AAAAAAAAAMs/3AhxYdgCdxM/s1600/GEDC0219.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6lGHE8MuwHw/UJCH6FaL7jI/AAAAAAAAAMs/3AhxYdgCdxM/s400/GEDC0219.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Bro0loYe1NE/UJCIIEOcDXI/AAAAAAAAAM4/svq0Lh5r_2s/s1600/GEDC0220.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Bro0loYe1NE/UJCIIEOcDXI/AAAAAAAAAM4/svq0Lh5r_2s/s400/GEDC0220.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Fill the box with your sunshine. I chose a lot of lemon flavor items. My friend has a little girl that is young, so I figured she could use some of the items in the box :).</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I will probably add some paper flowers as filler. You could also use a hat box for this and prop the lid up behind the back and shrink wrap it. I can think of a ton of ideas! If you make one send a photo my way!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I had to get some treats ready for my littlest guys school party on Halloween by tomorrow, so my other projects had to take a back seat for a while today.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Now, I have always said that when your financially challenged, you have to be creative. I think some of my creativity comes out of necessity, really. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I was looking for a project that I could give one of to 20+ kids in the classroom for under $10. A tall order, I know, but I managed to pull it off!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">These little "Boo Bags" fit the bill perfectly!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Q-EJn7T0lZg/UI2bEDyyB2I/AAAAAAAAAMQ/UulxxloqBu4/s1600/IMG_0517.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Q-EJn7T0lZg/UI2bEDyyB2I/AAAAAAAAAMQ/UulxxloqBu4/s400/IMG_0517.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">To make these, you will need:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BpQ_IjV_QA0/UI2a93a4wjI/AAAAAAAAAMI/J6yjFC-yOfQ/s1600/IMG_0516.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BpQ_IjV_QA0/UI2a93a4wjI/AAAAAAAAAMI/J6yjFC-yOfQ/s320/IMG_0516.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">3 bags of Cheeto's Puffcorn (or less, depending on how many you are making).</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Cheap (and I mean any bag will do) Ziploc bags.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Printer Paper</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Black construction paper</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Stapler</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Sharpie</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Glue</span></li>
</ul>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I got about 6 Boo Bags per Puffcorn bag. I also did some microwave popcorn mummies, so the 18 Boo Bags plus my popcorn mummies will take care of everyone in the class. :)</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">1) Fill each Ziploc bag with Puffcorn a little more than half way.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">2) Cut strips of construction paper the width of your Ziploc bag and about 4-5 inches tall. Fold each strip in half, position it over the top of the bag (to hide the zip strip) and staple it down on each side.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">3) Make some ovals on your computer that are about 1 1/2" tall. Print them off and cut them out.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">4) Glue two eyes on each bag.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">5) Use Sharpie Marker to draw a black dot on each eye.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">This craft couldn't be simpler, was fast and cheap and I think the kiddos will get a little kick out of them.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Now....off to make my little guy's costume out of a pack of construction paper and an empty cardboard box!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>Kathryn Davishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06602711777037844998noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1738862551028253229.post-12035496098152860802012-10-27T19:55:00.002-07:002012-10-27T19:56:07.465-07:00Mug Rug!<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Today I was inspired to make my first Mug Rug after seeing one on Craftsy. The one on Craftsy was a fall one with a couple of pumpkins. It was cute, but I wanted to try for one that was not seasonal and I could use anytime at my desk at work or in my sewing room.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I also think that small projects like this give you an opportunity to experiment and practice your fundamentals. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-s_7_zt7nDHk/UIycplZ-Q1I/AAAAAAAAALg/Bmzrk5CoRlE/s1600/GEDC0215.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-s_7_zt7nDHk/UIycplZ-Q1I/AAAAAAAAALg/Bmzrk5CoRlE/s400/GEDC0215.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">My experiment on this little project was putting a roughly 1/8" seam around the edge before binding it. I have been wondering for some time now if that would make the binding easier to fold over when doing my hand stitching on the back. I think that it did make a difference on this project and I will probably use the technique again in the future.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I actually think you could get away with not binding this and just doing a 1/4 inch seam around the edge. However, lately I have been on a big "frame everything in white" kick, and this project was no different!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Here is a shot of my finished project. Start to finish...maybe a 45 minute project. This (to me) makes it perfect for gift giving! I am itching to try a square one with an applique monogram......I feel another project coming on!</span><br />

Now that you have your circles made, you are ready for your next step.</span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Arrange all of your circles on your backing fabric. I used a roughly 42" X 42" piece of muslin. I really contemplated putting these on a white background (which would have looked great), but I have always wanted to do a top with muslin. I had this muslin lying around that someone had given me and I used a little more than a half of a charm pack on this quilt, so for the roughly $3.50 I have in this top....I figured I could chance it with the muslin.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">After you have your circles arranged the way you like, pin each one down. I just used a single quilting pin in each circle.</span></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hFFzUQkBjZo/UISbn8voYmI/AAAAAAAAAJ0/pxjYsKV5P7w/s1600/IMG_0483.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hFFzUQkBjZo/UISbn8voYmI/AAAAAAAAAJ0/pxjYsKV5P7w/s640/IMG_0483.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Next, following the package directions on your fusible stabilizer, iron each circle down. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Now, using a narrow zig-zag stitch. Sew each circle down to your backing fabric.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lPu_GXT5rgM/UISbuHo810I/AAAAAAAAAJ8/rz63-qflrfg/s1600/IMG_0485.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lPu_GXT5rgM/UISbuHo810I/AAAAAAAAAJ8/rz63-qflrfg/s640/IMG_0485.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Here is a finished circle. They are actually quite flat once they are sewn down.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-obourLsoGY8/UISb7j_WdeI/AAAAAAAAAKM/ryPlU91LzWQ/s1600/IMG_0487.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-obourLsoGY8/UISb7j_WdeI/AAAAAAAAAKM/ryPlU91LzWQ/s640/IMG_0487.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">And, here is a shot of some of them tacked down and some not sewn down yet. </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--ex7zyo1wBE/UIScfoKTvNI/AAAAAAAAAKw/Cg6yqp8IC_8/s1600/GEDC0299.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--ex7zyo1wBE/UIScfoKTvNI/AAAAAAAAAKw/Cg6yqp8IC_8/s640/GEDC0299.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: large;"> I have not quite made a decision on how I am going to quilt mine just yet! </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>

I just finished cutting a quilt kit for my mother, who is making a quilt for the newest addition to the family....a new grand daughter. This marks the first grand daughter in the family :).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span id="goog_1413574882"></span><span id="goog_1413574883"></span><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I have another "Basket Weave" quilt in the works as well. This one I am calling "A Walk in the Woods". I will show that one later when it's a little more presentable.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">So, in the midst of these projects I decided to try out a circle quilt that I have really, really been wanting to do. I am calling this "Part 1" of the tutorial on how to make it.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This would be the absolute perfect quilt to make if you only had two or three days to put something hand made together for a baby shower! It is simple and easy. I am a firm believer that a quilt doesn't have to be complex or difficult to be beautiful and I love the modern cute look of the fabrics in this one.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Here are some of my circles:</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Git1EklYuMw/UIMe2v9nVSI/AAAAAAAAAH8/xD-hqGDi3v4/s1600/260.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Git1EklYuMw/UIMe2v9nVSI/AAAAAAAAAH8/xD-hqGDi3v4/s640/260.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Start by selecting a circle template in whatever size you want. I started with charm squares for my fabric so I used a CD which was the PERFECT size. For my quilt, I am using 25 circles. Use your circle template and cut out as many circles as you like. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Next, cut the same amount of circles out of a lightweight fusible stabilizer with the same circle template. I just picked up some at Jo Ann Fabric.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-q8XQyXputps/UIMf-ZL1TFI/AAAAAAAAAIE/M6SNuu2g6S0/s1600/251.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-q8XQyXputps/UIMf-ZL1TFI/AAAAAAAAAIE/M6SNuu2g6S0/s640/251.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Now, take a circle of fabric and a circle of stabilizer and put them right side of fabric and fusible side of stabilizer together.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-E1u3HvlMXgQ/UIMgE0OTgzI/AAAAAAAAAIM/8w0gUPsx_aI/s1600/252.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-E1u3HvlMXgQ/UIMgE0OTgzI/AAAAAAAAAIM/8w0gUPsx_aI/s640/252.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Now sew your circle completely closed all the way around. Sew as close to the edge you can while still making sure to get both the stabilizer and fabric.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MA2KuQXMW-k/UIMgKVl6uwI/AAAAAAAAAIU/_QS7Sj2y1vo/s1600/253.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MA2KuQXMW-k/UIMgKVl6uwI/AAAAAAAAAIU/_QS7Sj2y1vo/s640/253.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">If you are wondering why you don't leave an opening....here is the answer. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-42-eDtfKIcc/UIMgP6XZCuI/AAAAAAAAAIc/pztagMaHR_Q/s1600/254.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-42-eDtfKIcc/UIMgP6XZCuI/AAAAAAAAAIc/pztagMaHR_Q/s640/254.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> Pull the fabric and the stabilizer apart from one another and cut a small to medium sized slit in the stabilizer. Be careful not to cut your fabric! Turn your circle inside out. Trust me, it won't matter that the stabilizer has a cut in it later in the process.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-msxKEmyKz5w/UIMgU33-IWI/AAAAAAAAAIk/fL2HTJE5lNE/s1600/255.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-msxKEmyKz5w/UIMgU33-IWI/AAAAAAAAAIk/fL2HTJE5lNE/s640/255.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Next, use a pencil or sewing marker and gently shape your seam to flatten out your circle. Be careful not to push too hard!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-S34S7-1V-UI/UIMgbf8N5NI/AAAAAAAAAIs/oV8txIs07co/s1600/257.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-S34S7-1V-UI/UIMgbf8N5NI/AAAAAAAAAIs/oV8txIs07co/s640/257.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Now you have a finished circle! </span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DgtmAw1Clrc/UIMgpnF3QfI/AAAAAAAAAI8/8xQHG4rXETk/s1600/259.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DgtmAw1Clrc/UIMgpnF3QfI/AAAAAAAAAI8/8xQHG4rXETk/s640/259.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Now, fashion as many as you like and come back in a few days for the next segment of this tutorial!</span></div>

I promised a pattern and here it is. Now, bear with me here.....I have never written a pattern before. Come to think of it, I have only ever followed one or two quilt patterns. I have made one particular quilt several times, but now that I think about it, it is only one of two patterns for a quilt I have ever used. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I usually just come up with my own, but never write the directions down. I get inspiration from all sorts of places and when I think of a quilt I want to make I sit down with excel or graph paper and figure out how I am going to make it. I cut all the pieces and put them on my design wall, then figure out what order I am going to sew the pieces, what direction I am going to iron my seams and how to assemble the rows.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">That being said, here is my first attempt at writing down how I made a quilt! Please feel free to email or comment with any questions and I will do my best to answer.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Here are a couple of shots of mine quilted:</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-doWRQmx6wZI/UHwbdA22H6I/AAAAAAAAAHc/6cq-1_8EssU/s1600/GEDC0288.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-doWRQmx6wZI/UHwbdA22H6I/AAAAAAAAAHc/6cq-1_8EssU/s320/GEDC0288.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-n5UnL1en4gE/UHwbeP8v1WI/AAAAAAAAAHk/WWOwP8xcQeQ/s1600/62517_4842285737836_1010820503_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-n5UnL1en4gE/UHwbeP8v1WI/AAAAAAAAAHk/WWOwP8xcQeQ/s320/62517_4842285737836_1010820503_n.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">You will need:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>41</b> 5" X 5" Charm Squares (I used Moda Coquette)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>100</b> 2" X 5" Rectangles (Mine are white). This is 3/4 Yard of fabric.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>60</b> 2" X 2" Squares of an accent color (Mine are yellow). This is less than 1/4 yard. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>8</b> 6 1/2" X 6 1/2" Squares for the sides of blanket or end of rows (Mine are white. Yours need to be the same color as your rectangles). This is less than a 1/4 yard.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>1</b> 7 1/4" Square for corners. This is less than 1/8 yard.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This quilt is assembled on the diagonal and I worked from bottom right corner to top left corner. This is certainly not the last word on how to assemble this quilt, this is just my method of doing it.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Each odd numbered row begins and ends with a 2" X 2" Square and each even numbered row begins and ends with a 2" X 5" Rectangle.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Row #1 - 2 Squares / 1 Rectangle</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Row #2 - 2 Rectangles / 1 Charm Square</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Row #3 - 4 Squares / 3 Rectangles</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Row #4 - 4 Rectangles / 3 Charm Squares</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Row #5 - 6 Squares / 5 Rectangles</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Row #6 - 6 Rectangles / 5 Charm Squares</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Row #7 - 8 Squares / 7 Rectangles</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Row #8 - 8 Rectangles / 7 Charm Squares</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Row #9 - 10 Squares / 9 Rectangles</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Row #10 - 10 Rectangles / 9 Charm Squares</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Row #11 - 10 Squares / 9 Rectangles</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: x-small;">(Rows 9-11 are "segmented" from the other rows for a reason. Explanation coming up!)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Row #12 - </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">8 Rectangles / 7 Charm Squares</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Row #13 - </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">8 Squares / 7 Rectangles</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Row #14 - </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">6 Rectangles / 5 Charm Squares</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Row #15 - </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">6 Squares / 5 Rectangles</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Row #16 - </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">4 Rectangles / 3 Charm Squares</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Row #17 - </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">4 Squares / 3 Rectangles</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Row #18 - </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">2 Rectangles / 1 Charm Square</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Row #19 - </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">2 Squares / 1 Rectangle</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Assemble each row ironing seams to the dark on each row. On even rows, this means you will iron your seams toward your 2" X 2" Squares and on odd rows you will iron your seams toward your Charm Squares.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Next, assemble the rows in this order:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Rows #1 & #2</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Rows #3 & #4</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Rows #5 & #6</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Rows #7 & #8</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Rows #9, #10 & #11</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Rows #12 & #13</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Rows #14 & #15</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Rows #16 & #17</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Rows #18 & #19</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Iron your seams toward the Charm Squares on each row. Now, I actually ironed mine toward the rectangles and small squares, so please, Quilt Police....don't come get me! It really should have been ironed toward the Charm Squares, but some things can only be seen in hindsight!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">So, you should end up with 9 rows total. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Now that you have those assembled, cut your 6 1/2" squares corner to corner. These will be sewn to the end of 8 of your rows to complete your strip. The longest side of each triangle should face out. I find it easy to get confused on these and would suggest you lay it out so that you can get your mind clear on which edge you are sewing to your strip.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Sew one triangle to each end of rows:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">#1 & #2</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">#3 & #4</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">#5 & #6</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">#7 & #8</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">#12 & #13</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">#14 & #15</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">#16 & #17</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">#18 & #19</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Do <b>not</b> sew these onto your row that is made up of strips #9, #10 & #11!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Now that you have your rows complete, sew each together in any order you like. I assembled each half first and then attached each half to my large center strip (#9, #10 & #11). </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Now cut your 7 1/4" Square from corner to corner and again from corner to corner on the opposite corner. You will have 4 small triangles. Sew each triangle onto each corner. There is not much room for error with these measurements so I suggest pinning so your corners don't slip on you!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">And, wha-la, you are finished.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This quilt measures 42" X 42" finished. You could certainly add a border to make it larger, but I liked the absence of a border. Quilt however you like. I love the simplicity of the straight lines on mine, but I think this quilt would be beautiful stippled as well.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">There are a few pictures of this quilt in varying stages on this blog, so I would suggest using them for reference. I take a photo of it on my design wall and have to use it often when making a quilt. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I did a post a little bit back about my design wall. When I did that post I had thrown up some charm squares I had just gotten on it. I could already see that it was going to be a beautiful quilt, and now that it is all laid out on my design wall, I am even more excited about it! I am calling this quilt "Flower Basket" and it will be available on my Etsy shop when it is finished. The pattern will also be available here on this blog when it is done.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I say this every quilt I make, but this is my favorite quilt so far! It just screams spring and little girl!</div>
